Applying the newly established and social protection system to foreigners

Law No. 319 Amending Certain Provisions of the Social Security Law and Establishing the Retirement and Social Protection System. The House of Representatives approved, and the Council of Ministers published the following law in accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution: After the approval of the Council of Ministers on December 19, 2023, Article One: Change the name of the fourth branch of social security. The name of the fourth branch of social security branches stipulated in Article (7) of the Social Security Law shall be changed from "End of Service Compensation System" to "Retirement System": Chapter One Establishment of the Retirement System Article 49-2 Compulsorily Contributing Persons 3- Foreign Wage Earners: A- Foreign wage earners working in Lebanese territory who are associated with one or more specific employers, and the employers who employ them, are subject to all the obligations stipulated in the Retirement System. B- The foreign workers referred to in paragraph "A" above shall not be entitled to the benefits stipulated in this system unless they hold a work permit in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, provided that the country to which they belong applies reciprocal treatment to Lebanese with regard to the pension system.  Article 49-5: Provisions of the system: The system shall provide one of the following benefits: 1- Old-age pension. 2- Disability pension. 3- Guaranteed succession pension.
