This Memo informs that the departments concerned with receiving work permits for foreigners are required, when the applications are attached with the approval of the Minister for the last time, to request the concerned parties to fill in the attached form, confirmed to inform them of the decision, and to include it in the file upon signature. As for applications received through Omt and Liban Post, the completed licenses shall be attached to the above form. Provided that it is returned to be kept in the department or added to the transaction if possible.

Resolution No. (1) of 2020 Exempting the most affected commercial activities by the repercussions of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) from some of the fees charged by the Labor Market Regulatory Authority

Employers who have had to stop their commercial activities in whole or in part as a precaution due to the repercussions of the emerging coronavirus (19-COVID) until the issuance of this decision, are exempted from the fees for issuing or renewing work permits for the first year of the permit’s validity, and they are also exempted from the monthly fees due to them for a period of three months, starting from the first of July 2020.

Change in work permit management for domestic workers

LMRA announced that the management of work permits for migrants in the domestic workers category will be conducted through the Expatriate Management System (EMS) as of 17 March 2019, to support the provision of a transparent, efficient, one-stop-shop service. The EMS is an electronic system that allows employers or persons authorized on their behalf to undertake the transactions of issuing and renewing work permits and other LMRA related transactions.

Decision 1/84 Related to the Collection of the Annual Work Permit Fee from Syrian Citizens upon Regularization of their Status

This memo notifies that according to Article 3 (of Business flow of anonymous companies) of Law No. 126 of 29/03/2019 Art 144, the chairperson of the board of directors does not need a work permit if they are non-Lebanese and not residing in Lebanon.
